COEUS: enabling software architectural resilience and proactive adaptation with real-time distributed contextual intelligence

This project aims to develop a fog-based distributed CMP Coeus to cater for real-time IoT data streams from context providers and the ability to service context requests coming from context consumers. These could be applications, devices, software entities, including autonomous agents. This architecture supports distributed multi-agent teams, which may get disconnected from the CMP and continue to function with limited context availability and under limited resources.
The project aims to push processing down to edge nodes in the distributed multi-domain network whenever possible to:
- enable architectural resilience and support edge-based storage and local processing to avoid having a single point of failure
- significantly reduce the amount of communications in the network which has multiple benefits.
