Professor Robert Hunjet is the Chief Technology Officer at Praetorian Aeronautics, where he leads the company’s technology strategy and engineering execution, driving the development of next-generation autonomous and counter-autonomy capabilities for modern defence and security environments.
With more than 20 years of experience across Defence science, technology and innovation, Professor Hunjet is recognised as a leader in artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, resilient communications, and adaptive networks. Prior to joining Praetorian Aeronautics, he held several senior leadership positions within Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), including Program Leader – AI and Quantum Information Sciences and Program Leader – Science Partnerships. Rob also led Australia’s participation in the AUKUS Pillar II AI and Autonomy Working Group and served as Deputy Lead for the Quantum Technologies Working Group, delivering collaborative science and technology outcomes across international partners.
Professor Hunjet holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide and has served on numerous Defence science and technology boards and advisory panels, contributing to the advancement of Australia’s defence innovation ecosystem.
