Title: Defence AI Centre

Abstract: The 2024 National Defence Strategy emphasises the criticality of Defence adopting emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI). Supporting the intent of the 2024 National Defence Strategy, Defence Data Strategy 2.0 directs efforts for Defence to prepare for AI at scale. AI opportunities exist across the continuum of corporate to warfighting functions, and benefits include workforce savings, enhanced user experiences, and making better decisions, faster through Decision Advantage. AI is key to delivering asymmetric effects in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and warfighting contexts, and will support many of the capabilities identified in the National Defence Strategy and Integrated Investment Program. This presentation will cover the Defence AI Centre establishment, its functions and the high-level work program.
